I knew I should’ve have started to use this Doppler so soon but I did and here we are lol I was able to find babies heart beat at 8w2-3 days. Had US at OB at 8w6d and baby looked great. I then tried to find Doppler again at 9w and 9w1d and was successful within a few minutes on both days but now the past two days I have been unable to find the darn thing after 15+ minutes and it’s stressing me out lol is it normal for finding the heartbeat at this stage to be inconsistent?
Side note: I will try my hardest not to pick the thing up again until I’m 11 weeks

I would say so. They're still pretty low in the pelvis and the little sucker could be hold up being your pupic bone. my midwife won't use a doppler before 10 weeks for this exact reason.

Very normal to be inconsistent this early. I’ve tried (I’m 8 weeks) but I know it’s way early as baby is way little. They say it’s best not to start using it until after 12 weeks but that’s hard to do lol

@RainbowMinnie2025,
appointment went well! Saw baby and their little flickering heartbeat my OB was able to find the heartbeat today during my appointment but I think they’re Dopplers are much better quality than the ones we purchase online.

unless you have a hospital grade doppler it’ll be difficult to hear the heartbeat. even then it’s still hard to hear less than 12 weeks. i work in and ER and we don’t do it under 12 weeks, we just get an US if they think there’s a problem.
